Orewa College's Mission
Overarching that of the ACE programme is:  "Orewa College provides a supportive and challenging centre of learning for all students in their progress towards enriched and responsible citizenship".  The full text of this document may be viewed at: www.oc.school.nz or at our office.

Enrolments:
Please only enrol through our Administration Office.  Tutors and our Night Supervisor do not handle enrolments or money.  Once enrolled, you will only be contacted if a class does not start.

Venues:
Most of our courses are held at Orewa College on Riverside Road in Orewa.  Our ACE Night Supervisor is based in our office at the College.  Follow the signs and be taken to your class.  If the venue differs, it is noted in the course description.

Parking at Orewa College:
Please park outside or in the main carpark next to the river and the bridge to Centrestate Theatre and the Rodney District Council office.
Vehicles blocking access or parked in gateways, labelled or grassed areas may be towed.
You park your car in the College grounds at your own risk.  Please lock your car and ensure nothing valuable is visable from the outside.

Smoking:
Smoking is not permitted in any school buildings or in the school grounds at ANY time.  Smoking is also not permitted at any venue where the course is part of the Orewa College Adult and Community Education programme.

Course Evaluation
As part of our quality management process, student evaluations form part of every course.  Please phone (09) 426 8244 if you do not receive an evaluation form for your course.

Certificates of Attendance
Certificates of attendance are available on request from our office - you must have attended a minimum of 80% of the course sessions to qualify.

Safety and Security
If you have any accident, or even a 'near miss', please ensure you fill in a report - forms are available from the night supervisor or at our office.  We appreciate any information about possible dangers which we can then address.  You park your car in the College grounds at your own risk.  Please lock your car and ensure nothing valuable is visable from the outside.  Orewa College takes no responsibility for any loss resulting from damage, theft or loss of any property belonging to anyone involved in the ACE programme.

Emergency Evacuation:
In the case of an emergency, the College's alarm system will direct you to leave the buildings.  The assembly point for all ACE classes is the car park next to the river and the 'Rainbow Bridge' which leads to Centrestage Theatre.
At other venues, please ensure you are aware of evacuation procedures - these should be prominently displayed.  If they are not, please report this to our office.

Student Grievance/Complaints Procedure:
While we endeavour to serve our community well, there are occasions when we miss the mark.  If you have a complaint regarding your course or any aspect of our ACE programme, we urge you to discuss this with either your class tutor or with the Co-ordinator, Jennifer Kipfer, (09) 426 8244.  It is useful to put your complaint in writing.  If you feel the outcome of that contact is unsatisfactory, please put your concerns in writing and post to:
The Chairperson
Board of Trustees
Orewa College
P O Box 345

Your complaint will be dealt with by the Board at their monthly meeting.
